""Aspicere – to look" depicts a tree viewed from below. The tree carved into the door of a house spreads its branches towards the surrounding building and the sky. The blackened woodcut and its mirror image print depict thoughts about nature and its role in our lives. The woodcut plate and its mirror image print comment on permanence and transience, as well as how many things are different sides of the same thing at the same time. The theme of transformation is visible in this dichotomy. The pair of images remind us that nature changes, also by humans, and at the same time asks what the role of the viewer is in relation to nature.
